About
Hey, I’m Matteo! 👋
I’m a computer scientist based in Italy. I work as a Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead of the Privacy Engineering team at Nethermind, where I focus on zkVM benchmarking, consensus protocols, and Stellar infrastructure.
My main interests revolve around blockchain, AI, and zero knowledge proofs. I enjoy digging into the internals of these systems — whether that means writing an arbitrage bot on Starknet, verifying Ethereum blocks, or experimenting with zk-STARKs.
What I work with
I write code in Rust, Python, Cairo, and C++, among others. Most of my recent work has been in the blockchain and cryptography space, but I’ve also spent time on NLP and deep learning in the past.
Projects
Some things I’ve built or contributed to:
- StarkShift — An arbitrage bot on Starknet (the subject of my blog series)
- proofEth — Ethereum block verification in Rust
- fuelStation — EIP-1559 Ethereum gas estimation
- sns-lstm — LSTM neural network experiments
- Ston — An implementation of the Ston stemmer for information retrieval
- Sparagne — A budget tracker built in Rust
